Aamir Rana - Award Winning DJ & Dhol Player
Nationally and internationally, from California to Italy, Aamir has DJ’d with and for a wealth of celebrities from both the East and West – Malkit Singh (Gur Nal Ishq Mitha), Ali Sethi (Pasoori), Lehmber Hussainpuri (Sadi Gali), Angrej Ali (Tharti Hildi), AS Kang (Gidhian Di Rani) and more, as well as DJ sets with Annie Mac, MistaJam (video below), Charlie Sloth, Big Narstie, Scott Mills to name but a few. He also runs a successful solo DJ Roadshow for English events "Beats & Smiles", gigging for the likes of Red Bull and Nando's! Aamir has also been featured on the BBC Asian Network. He initially made his name as Birmingham City University’s Resident DJ, before transitioning to exclusively DJ parties and weddings, winning Best DJ 2024 at the Hitched Wedding Awards. As a musician himself, specialising in the keyboard and also playing the dhol at weddings, he also performs with Masti the band.

Surinder Sandhu - Dhol Player & DJ
During his 25+ years as an exclusive Asian wedding and party DJ, Surinder has become a pure master of this space. He has played the dhol for over 40 years and has supported the likes of Heera, DCS, Alaap, Apna Sangeet and more. More recent exploits include doing the sound engineering for the legendary “Tubsy” and providing live sound and DJ backing with Aamir for. Surinder performs the dhol throughout each event alongside the music to enhance the atmosphere and keep everybody's feet rooted to the dancefloor. Prior to this he was also a dancer (and choreographer) for the dance group Punjabi Juban - and always gets involved on the dancefloor with his dhol!

We have big name experience - having DJ'd with a ton of the biggest Desi names in the UK which makes our roadshow exciting for you and your guests before we've even spun a beat or banged a drum. Hiring DJ'd with this level of credentials comes at a premium price however our love of music and performing stops us from charging the premium. We genuinely love what we do.
As we know, having a dhol player at a wedding radiates energy and transforms the atmosphere to be truly phenomenal, making it further memorable. They are a must for a Desi wedding, however having to hire an additional dhol player is a) expensive, and b) extra hassle. First you need to find an experienced and reliable dhol player, who is then one more person you need to liaise with when you have so much to already do and plan. On the day, they will walk you in, wait around and perform one or two 10-15 minute slots in the evening before leaving – charging a premium rate for a whole day.
At Masti, with the benefit of both Aamir and Surinder being dholi's, you get a dhol player INCLUDED! You have ONE party to liaise with for all musical entertainment, ONE price, and we can perform all night on the dhol, not just for 1-2 short bursts. The dancefloor will be rocking all night!
We are sound engineers by trade! Many other DJ roadshows hire their sound equipment and PA systems per gig – which they factor into the cost. However as experienced sound engineers, our speakers are our own – and they pack a PUNCH!

Aamir and Surinder gig both individually or as a team, depending on your requirements. They offer a world-class DJ performance, dhol player and dhol performances (such as bringing in the bride/groom), a large screen to share your pictures and memories, atmosphere enhancing lights, fire/flame machines, spark machine, smoke machine and more. Wireless microphones can be provided for your speeches too. Background music can be played through the day as well as a dhol entrance, or alternatively just come for the evening do - packages are completely customisable and flexible.
